Last week, the 2014 Oscars were screened, and it was an unsurprisingly fabulous event. Of course, Ellen Degeneres did an amazing job hosting, a celebrity selfie crashed twitter, J-Law tripped and fell, and everyone utterly enjoyed eating pizza. Apart from all of these entertaining incidents, the fashion was sublime. Each lady looked better then the last on the red carpet. Below are just a few of my favorite looks from the night.

Skating on the Edge

The games have begun! The Olympic Games, that is. You may be thinking, "what the heck does this event have to do with fashion?" Most people would answer, "not much at all," but because of my love for figure skating I have a different response. While most of us recognize that the girls' dresses are a bit too glittery and tight to be considered fashion-forward, I can't help but pretend that the fashion industry used them as inspiration in creating what are called "skater dresses." These A-line, above the knee dresses lie perfectly in the middle of the casual to fancy spectrum, making them perfect for dinners with girlfriends or first dates. I desperately wish that I could use the excuse of the Olympics to justify purchasing a multitude of skater dresses from one of my favorite online shops: Asos.

Peter Pilotto For Target
As I compose this blog post I'm positively beaming with excitement, because with a new year always comes a new Target collaboration! This one so happens to be with one of my favorite designers: Peter Pilotto. For many years, I've been completely enchanted by his use of vivid patterns, so I'm not surprised that his genius taste is reflected in this gorgeous collection. Although the unique designs may not be for the faint of heart to wear, I think that we can all appreciate the thought that Pilotto always puts into his garments' structures and intricate motifs.
