Oscars 2013: Red Carpet Recap
I can't remember ever having been as excited for the Academy Awards as I was this year. This is probably because I wasn't just looking forward to the red carpet, but to the awards ceremony as well. For instance, Jennifer Lawrence, one of my favorite actresses and celebrities, was nominated for the Best Actress category! Not only did she end up receiving an Oscar, but she also ended up as my pick for best dressed this year. However, there were other cascading gowns that also made me swoon.

The ever captivating Jennifer Lawrence stunned in this Dior Haute Couture gown. The minimal silver accessories complemented the elegant dropped-waist ballgown exquisitely. Overall, I don't think that she could have picked a more perfect dress to win her first Oscar in.

As the night progressed, I realized that within the sea of dresses, pale hued ones were prominent on the red carpet. Charlize Theron's structured, yet sexy, Dior Couture gown, as well as Amanda Seyfried's ethereal and embellished Alexander McQueen look were some of the most beautiful dresses of the night.
Another trend that I spotted on the red carpet was dresses in various shades of red. Decked out in Miu Miu, Kerry Washington looked pretty in pink. Moreover, I absolutely love the details of this dress, such as the gold sequins and thin bow. Jennifer Aniston also looked flawless in a fire engine red, Valentino Haute Couture gown.

Beautiful dresses! :D
